Todd County’s last day of school now set for May 11

The Todd County School System has moved its last day of school for students to May 11 and a new superintendent could be chosen Friday.

The Todd County Board of Education amended the current school year calendar Monday night to make the last day Monday, May 11, which will meet the state requirement for 1,062 instructional hours. The new calendar allows for seven hours of non-traditional instruction each day through the remainder of the school year, according to Director of District Wide Services Jennifer Pope.

The staff closing day is set for May 21.

The board could choose the district’s next superintendent during a special-called meeting set for 5:30 p.m. Friday.
