NFL readying for first virtual draft/Saints cancel off-season programs

From his home in suburban New York, Roger Goodell will handle perhaps his most visible annual chore – announcing draft picks. But this time it will be virtual. Not since the NFL draft became a televised event in 1980 has it been stripped to the basics like this year’s proceedings will be. Prospects will be at their homes, too. The Tennessee Titans have the 29th pick of the first round while the Cincinnati Bengals have the number one pick.

The New Orleans Saints have canceled their off-season program because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and informed players they will not be required to report to club headquarters until training camp – whenever that may be.
