Pennyroyal Indivisible has endorsed Mike Broihier, one of the 2020 democratic candidates running for the U.S. Senate, the seat currently held by Mitch McConnell.
According to a news release, each member of the organization cast votes remotely to leadership in order to determine a candidate to endorse. The chapter decided unanimously on Broihier. Broihier says, “We got into this because we felt that our campaign was the best equipped to take on Mitch McConnell, and I am only motivated further to meet that challenge by my tireless allies in Pennyroyal Indivisible.”
Broihier will face off against multiple candidates in a primary—including Amy McGrath and Representative Corey Booker—though when a primary may take place is up in the air during the COVID-19 pandemic. The winner of the primary would likely go on to face Mitch McConnell in the general election.
