Dawson Springs man arrested following pursuit

A pursuit of a vehicle that began in Webster County Saturday night ended in Hopkins County with the arrest of a Dawson Springs man.

Madisonville police were notified of a vehicle pursuit from Providence headed toward Hopkins County about 8:20 p.m., according to a news release, which says officers and deputies from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office got behind the vehicle at the intersection of Nebo Road and Industrial Road.

Police say the driver, 32-year old William Hoggard of Dawson Springs, allegedly disregarded multiple stop signs and traffic lights while driving erratically through the city of Madisonville.

Hoggard made his way to Nortonville on US 41 before taking US 62 to St. Charles, where the pursuit came to an end.

Hoggard was arrested on numerous charges including wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving and he was served with a warrant for parole violation.
