Altria, which is the parent company of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco, has made a large contribution to United Way of the Pennyrile to assist with response to COVID-19.
Altria has donated $35,000 to the United Way of the Pennyrile, $40,000 to the Central Kentucky food bank and $15,000 to Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland.
In addition, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco has donated a small quantity of protective equipment to two health organizations in the area.
Senior Vice President for Corporate Citizenship Jennifer Hunter is quoted as saying, “Caring for each other and doing what’s right is core to our company. Circumstances are changing quickly, and we will respond to our communities’ needs accordingly.”
