Louisville coaches & athletic administrators to take pay cut due to Covid-19

Multiple reports say University of Louisville coaches and athletic administrators have agreed to take a 10 percent pay cut and placed hiring freezes in effect due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Athletic director Vince Tyra says the reduction will help offset a $2.1 million revenue shortfall due to the pandemic. Tyra adds the athletic department is also studying other moves to reduce costs and consolidate expenses because of reduced revenue from the cancellation of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and uncertainty about the start of the 2020 football season.
