The pandemic may have delayed or stopped many things, but spring is not one of them, and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is urging people to take part in the Seed Library.
The Seed Library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a cart full of bags of seeds placed outside of the library on Bethel Street to maintain social distancing between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Executive Director Deanna Sova says each bag will have four to five seed packets inside, and it will go on for as long as supplies last.
She says after you harvest your vegetables or flowers—after they’ve grown—to try and gather remaining seeds and donate them back to the library.
Interested patrons are asked to limit 2 bags per family. The HCCPL seed library is a free partnership program with the Christian County Master Gardeners Association and seeds are donated by the Master Gardeners Association, Superlawn and Garden Center, Hopkinsville Lowe’s, Walmart and Tractor Supply.
