Clarksville police made an arrest while encountering a burglary in progress Sunday night on College Street.
Officers were patrolling the area and noticed the dome light on in a vehicle parked in a commercial lot after hours. A news release says the officer saw someone kneel down beside the vehicle and he decided to investigate.
As he approached, 49-year old Robert Allen of Clarksville ran, but as caught after a brief foot pursuit.
He was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle.
