Man arrested for attempted felony assault

Hopkinsville police arrested a man for felony attempted assault Thursday night following an incident at a Howell Street home.

An arrest citation for 52-year old Carlos Potter of Hopkinsville says he began talking about writings he believed he could see on himself and on everyone else before he became aggressive. That’s when he allegedly went into his room, retrieved two machetes and began swinging the blades at two other adults in the home, lunging and threatening to cut them.

Potter was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree assault. No one was injured in the incident.
