The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced the “indefinite” suspension of the Girls Sweet 16 and the Boys Sweet 16 scheduled for next week at Rupp Arena. According to a news release from the KHSAA, they will try and seek options for rescheduling later in the spring if at all possible, but not until after they have received collaborative approval from the Governor’s office, the Commissioner of Public Health and the Kentucky Department of Education.
Meanwhile, the Henderson Gleaner reports that high school spring sports scheduling of games will all be local decisions. No directive will be coming from the KHSAA. Spring sports-including baseball and softball-are set to begin next week.
