Ky. now has four COVID-19 cases

Governor Andy Beshear announced Sunday that three more Kentuckians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, more commonly known as coronavirus.

That brings the total to 4 patients—two in Harrison County and one each in Jefferson and Fayette counties.

Beshear says the risk to Kentuckians remains relatively low and that they should not panic.

As of Sunday afternoon, the state had received 21 tests for the COVID-19 and 17 came back negative.

No other information on the new Kentucky cases has been released.

Gov. Beshear has announced state government is adjusting its sick leave policy to ensure state employees who are sick can stay home – even for new employees who have not accrued leave time. He said the state would make sure those who are sick can stay home and will be covered. The governor has encouraged businesses to implement similar policies so sick employees, because of financial concerns, do not come to work and expose others.

Officials in Tennessee have announced two additional cases in Nashville and Memphis.
