Library to host free ‘family fort night’

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will be hosting an after-hours family fort night Friday.

It will be at 7 p.m. and a news release says participants are encouraged to wear pajamas, bring blankets, flash lights and pillows, and create blanket forts.

Organizers say there will be limited materials available for those who are unable to bring supplies.  Youth Services Librarian Jennifer Annis-Domenech is quoted as saying, “We are encouraging participants to build blanket forts and read together as families in the library after we close. Participants will also enjoy deconstructed s’mores, a craft, and a family story time.”

Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says, “The library is for everyone in the community, and while we embrace technology on every level, it’s nice to step back and just enjoy the basics of creativity and being together.

The event is free and a library card is not required, and pre-registration is not necessary.
