Compass Awards highlights local businesses, agencies for their service

The Christian County Chamber of Commerce and the community recognized the hard work and service of the many local businesses at the annual Compass Awards Thursday night.

The Silo Event Center was filled with business, both big and small, and supporters as multiple awards were presented.  Chamber President Kelli Pendleton says all these businesses deserve as much support and appreciation as they can get.

She says in the spirit of continuing to develop business in the community and help those who may be looking for advice on how to get started, the Chamber will launch a new program in April called ‘Innovate and Caffeinate’.

The winner of the Agri-Business Award was Agri-Chem, LLC, the winner of the Century Award was Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority and the recipient of the Food Service Award was the Horseshoe Steak House.  Casey Jones Distillery got the Friend of the Community Award, Jennie Stuart Heath claimed the Health/Wellness Award and the winner of the Horizon Award was the Planter’s Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex Hopkinsville.

Gary Keeton with Kentucky Farm Bureau encouraged everyone to keep the communities in middle Tennessee that were recently devastated by tornadoes in their thoughts and prayers.

City Salvage and Recycling took home the Industrial/Commercial Services Award, the Non-Profit Award went to the Rotary Club of Hopkinsville, the Pennyroyal Center claimed the Regionalism Award and the Residential Services Award went to Hopkinsville Electric System and Energynet.  The Retail Award went to Bella Marie Boutique, the UPS Store was the winner of the Special Service Award and Gracious Me took home the Spirit of Entrepreneurism Award.

The Sunset Award went to Means and Fort Electric, Inc. and the winner of the Quality Service Award was won by the Pennyrile Area Development District.
