Although the risk remains low locally for the coronavirus, the Christian County Public Schools System has made plans in the event of illness as a precaution.
According to a news release, the Christian County Health Department has been in contact with officials on state, local and federal levels and have determined the risk remains low both locally and for Kentucky. CCPS says they have worked with the Kentucky Department of Education and determined procedures for the illness becomes an issue in the future.
In addition to continuing our thorough daily sanitizing routines in each building, CCPS will continue common practices, which are aligned with the recommendations set by the Center for Disease Control for prevention of any respiratory virus.
Students and families are encouraged to regularly wash their hands thoroughly, avoid contact with those who are ill, keep children home when sick, disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects and cough or sneeze into tissues and throw them away.
