Sen. McConnell hopes for bipartisan effort to fight Corona Virus spread

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky says House Democrats and Senate Republicans should and can work together to support experts fighting the spread of the Coronavirus.

He says he’s been pleased so far that leaders from both parties and chambers have come to consensus to provide supplemental funding to agencies working overtime to fight the spread of the virus.

Majority Leader McConnell says he’s confident those efforts will continue in the coming days and that the additional revenue can be appropriated within a couple weeks.

There have been no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Kentucky and officials have called the local risk low. The best way to avoid contracting the Coronavirus is the same as avoiding the flu or most any other illness—proper handwashing and not touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
