Registration is underway for youth baseball and softball with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Youth League this spring and organizers are hopeful Ruff Park will be ready for the games to begin on time after severe weather caused major damage there last month.
Jonathan Zordel praised the crew from the Christian County Jail for getting the park cleaned up after high winds knocked down fences, trees, scoreboards and dugouts.
He says work should begin on repairs in the near future and he’s hopeful Ruff Park will be ready for the season to start at the end of April.
Information on how to register and costs can be found at hccyl.org and registration continues until March 22. Zordel says t-ball, baseball and softball leagues are available for kids ages 4 through 12.
