Legislators talk budget, vape tax, Daylight Saving Time

A few weeks into the 2020 session of the Kentucky General Assembly, the budget, the clock and other topics have made headlines.

Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke serves on the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee and says his major focus of the budget is being sure the pension systems are fully-funded.

Representative Walker Thomas is joining Dossett in supporting a new tax on vaping products.

The House recently approved a resolution urging Congress to allow Kentucky and other states to permanently adopt daylight saving time instead of falling back and springing forward. It could create problems for folks living near state lines or borders of time zones and Senator Whitney Westerfield doesn’t expect the resolution to go much farther.
