Matt Kuchar continues to hold the lead after two rounds of the Genesis Open, while Tiger Woods’ bid for a record 83rd PGA Tour title took a big hit. Woods shot a 2-over 73 Friday to drop to even par. He’s nine strokes behind Kuchar, who owns a two-shot advantage over Rory McIlroy and two others. Adam Scott carded the low round of the day, a 6-under 64, is one of a handful of players three strokes back at 6-under. Kentuckian JB Holmes is tied for 11th at four under while Louisville area native Justin Thomas missed the cut at three over par.
Franklin’s Kenny Perry is tied for 35th at one under par 70 heading into today’s second round of the PGA Tour Champions Chubb Classic in Naples, FL. Doug Barron and Scott Parel at seven under 64 have a one shot lead over four golfers including Fred Funk and Bernhard Langer.
