A space heater being used too close to a chair started a fire that caused minor damage to an apartment behind Car Outlet on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Michael Pendleton says the resident was able to get the chair outside soon after the fire began.
The man sustained minor injuries to his hand, but refused EMS.
