One hurt in two-vehicle crash on Old Clarksville Pike

A two-vehicle collision on Old Clarksville Pike at Jerry’s Express Carwash Wednesday sent a Hopkinsville woman to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

That’s according to the Hopkinsville police report, which says that a vehicle operated by 20-year old Meshawn Bailey of Hopkinsville was travelling behind another vehicle driven by 16-year old Douglas Peterson of Clarksville on Old Clarksville Pike. Both vehicles had turned left onto the road from Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Peterson reportedly turned into the lot of Jerry’s Express Carwash and then tried to leave the lot from the next driveway back onto Old Clarksville Pike, turning into the path of Bailey.  Bailey reportedly attempted to avoid a collision, but was unable to do so. Bailey’s vehicle spun off the roadway into a ditch.

Bailey was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of back and neck pain.  Peterson was not injured and everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
