Flash Flood Watch until 6 a.m. Thursday

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a flash flood watch for western Kentucky and surrounding areas until 6 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service expects Christian, Todd and Trigg counties and areas to the south in middle Tennessee to receive an inch and a half to two inches of rain between Wednesday morning and Wednesday night. Isolated higher amounts cannot be ruled out.

With the ground already saturated from multiple heavy rain events in recent days, there could be flooding issues—especially in all of the usual low-lying and poor drainage areas.

If you do encounter standing water on roads it’s important to remember—turn around, don’t drown.
