Ky. senators vote ‘not guilty’ in presidential impeachment trial

Both of Kentucky’s U.S. Senators found President Trump not guilty of both articles of impeachment at the conclusion of the impeachment trial Wednesday afternoon.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke shortly before the vote, claiming the House impeachment managers didn’t come close to making a case for the president to be removed from office.

Senator Rand Paul also cast not guilty votes on both votes, as expected.

Congressman James Comer issued a statement regarding the vote claiming, “The Senate’s acquittal of President Trump brings a long overdue end to this partisan effort to remove a duly-elected American president from office based on personal disdain for him and his supporters.”
