A woman who had been arrested six previous times for shoplifting from Walmart was charged with burglary following an incident at the store Tuesday night.
Walmart loss prevention personnel attempted to stop 37-year old Kelli Okum of Hopkinsville for removing property from the store, but an arrest citation says she ran and got away.
An officer located her walking at Edgewood and Pinehill Drive and was taken into custody. Police say a search of her person revealed a bag of methamphetamine in her hat.
Okum was charged with third-degree burglary and possession of meth. She had been given a trespass warning to stay away from all Walmart stores during her previous six arrests, according to the report. She was additionally served with a warrant for failing to appear in court.
Police also arrested a man who was with her, 26-year old Kevin Okum of Hopkinsville, on a warrant out of Tennessee.
