Indictments returned for assault, abuse

A woman accused of stabbing her mother was indicted by a Christian County Grand Jury Friday, along with two people charged with criminal abuse.

Indicted for first-degree assault is 18-year old Makayla Paige of Hopkinsville, for allegedly stabbing her mother multiple times with a switchblade knife in December at a residence on Cates Street.  Paige reportedly told officers she was defending herself when the victim was allegedly hitting her over an argument, which is when Paige began stabbing her.

Indicted for two counts of criminal child abuse and two counts of strangulation is 27-year old Bradford Lynch, Jr. of Hopkinsville. He is accused of going into the room of his step-son in August and strangling him until his face turned red. He then went to another step son and allegedly strangled him. He is also accused of smashing his step-daughter’s phone in the incident.

Indicted for two counts of criminal child abuse and two counts of complicity to strangulation is 29-year old Sheena Lynch, the mother of the children, who allegedly did not try to stop Bradford Lynch from hurting the children.
