Matt Wieters is returning to the St. Louis Cardinals. The club has re-signed the veteran catcher to a one-year deal worth two-million-dollars, with one-million-dollars in incentives. The 33-year-old will be Yadier Molina’s backup for a second year. Wieters hit .214 with 11 home runs last season.

The Atlanta Braves are inviting 17 non-roster position players and nine pitchers to spring training. Among them are utilityman Charlie Culberson, top pitching prospect Ian Anderson and former Mariners ace Felix Hernandez. Camp starts February 12th.
