Dayton Jones turned himself in to authorities in Oldham County Thursday afternoon and promptly posted bail.
Officials say Jones was served by the Oldham County Sheriff’s Department with a grand jury indictment warrant for promoting contraband and for being a persistent felony offender in the second degree and that he posted a $5,000 bond.
Jones allegedly had the prescription drug Suboxone in his possession while incarcerated at the prison in La Grange.
Jones turned himself in at the Oldham County Courthouse and was able to post the bond without being processed through the local jail, which a deputy circuit court clerk says is common there.
Jones was one of four suspects who pled guilty for their roles in the November, 2014 sexual assault of an unconscious 15-year old male at a party on Lafayette Road. Governor Matt Bevin commuted his sentence to time served during the final hours of his administration.
