Thomas missed cut at Sony Open, Snedeker tied for 30th

Brendan Steele atoned for one bad swing with three straight birdies for a 4-under 66 that gave him a share of the lead with Cameron Davis at six under par on another windy day at the Sony Open. Louisville area Justin Thomas made only one putt over 10 feet in two rounds, made two double bogeys on Friday and missed the cut at seven over par for the first time since last year’s US Open. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 30th at one under par.
