A teacher has filed to run for state representative in District 15.
Democrat Crystal Chappell of Drakesboro filed her papers Thursday at the Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office to run for the seat currently held by Republican Melinda Prunty.
Chappell ran an unsuccessful campaign in 2018 for the state Senate seat held by Senator C.B. Embry.
She is the chair of the Muhlenberg County Democratic Executive Committee and was one of 28 educators from across the country in 2017 to participate in the “See Educators Run” seminar in Texas.
District 15 includes all of Muhlenberg and a portion of Hopkins County.
