A new challenger has filed to run for Hopkinsville City Council in Ward 12, the seat currently held by incumbent Democrat Phillip Brooks.
Matthew Handy filed to run as a Republican Monday at the Christian County Clerk’s Office, and in a post on social media he says the great people of Ward 12 deserve a fighter and an advocate on their behalf. He says, “I will work hard to ensure that the concerns of individuals that reside in Ward 12 are being addressed at every council meeting.”
Handy served on the Mayor’s Youth Council in 2016, and says he intends to bring a new perspective to city council if elected.
