Woman, child hurt in Greenville crash

A woman and a child were hurt in a wreck in Muhleberg County Saturday and rain is thought to be a factor in the crash.

According to the Greenville Fire Department, first responders were dispatched to the area of Duvall Chapel and Dean Road for reports of a single-vehicle wreck.  Upon arrival, they found a vehicle off the roadway and in the wood line, occupied by a woman and a child.  The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle, and both were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The names of those involved have not been released.

The department warns to give yourself extra time on roads after it has been heavily raining, and take your time getting to your destination.  The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
