Two Hopkinsville men charged with burglary

 

 

 

 

 

Two Hopkinsville man are facing charges of burglary after Hopkinsville police reportedly discovered them in the building that had entered unlawfully.

According to the police report, officers responded to an East First Street residence for reports of a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, they reportedly made contact with 39-year old Nathaniel Shelton and 31-year old Shawn Shier, both of Hopkinsville, who were allegedly exiting the building at the same moment.

Investigation determined that they had entered the building without permission, and a search revealed burglary tools in bags and marijuana.

Both men were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana.  Shelton was additionally charged with an arrest warrant for contempt of court.
