Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is accusing House Democrats of “misusing the solemn process” of impeachment.
The Kentucky Republican criticized his Democratic colleague Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of trying to “break precedent” by “choreographing the middle of a potential trial” before it has even begun.
Schumer requested that four witnesses testify before the Senate, none of whom testified before the house including former National Security Adviser John Bolton and Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney.
McConnell made his remarks on the Senate floor Wednesday morning.
