The Hopkinsville Christmas parade brought in huge crowds to downtown Saturday night, and the feeling of Christmas was in the air.
The Hopkinsville Electric System parade stretched almost two miles, with over 100 entrants, including floats, cars, walkers, marching bands, decorated golf cats, horses and others. Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says the weather—which managed to be dry and not too cold—really brought in the crowds and everyone seemed to have a good time, judging by the smiles on their faces.
He says if you’re still looking for winter fun, Skating on the Square continues Sunday afternoon, and spots are still available.
The grand champion of the parade float competition this year was Rogers Group, with second place claimed by Jones Brothers Towing. Best business float went to Stewart Richey Construction and the Spirit Award was won by Little River Missionary Baptist Church.
