Clarksville PD: Man threatened to blow up church

Clarksville police have arrested a man who allegedly threatened to blow up a church and kill its members after they wouldn’t provide him with money.

According to a news release, the church members involved were providing food, clothing and money assistance to 59-year old Rogelio Demoura, who had been evicted from his residence.  Demoura reportedly came to the church earlier in December and requested more money, but he was told there were no additional funds available.

He allegedly began threatening to blow up the church or shoot it up, but he was eventually convinced to leave the property.  On December 10, he reportedly reached out to individuals and continued to make threats against them and the church.

Demoura was arrested and charged with harassment and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
