Rotary Club announces theme, goal, dates of 70th auction

The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville has announced the theme and fundraising goal for the 2020 Rotary Auction—this will be the 70th auction held by the organization.

Rotarian Scott Cowan is the auction chair and says Rotary has a proud tradition of raising money to benefit the students of Hopkinsville Community College while having fun doing it.

He says the Rotary Scholarship program, which the funds raised benefits, has helped changed the lives of many in the community.

Cowan says the goal for the 70th auction is $300,000 and he feels that the community will once again rally behind the cause and help them reach that goal.

The hour club donation will remain at $174, same as the last auction and pays for a credit hour of class at HCC, and the theme this year is called “A Tradition of Service Above Self”. The WHOP Rotary Radio Auction will take place April 20th through the 25th at the War Memorial Building.
