Rain doesn’t stop Shop Small Saturday in Hopkinsville

Although it rained for most of the day, that didn’t stop a good amount of people from supporting local businesses in downtown Hopkinsville for Shop Small Saturday.

While the rain did damper the turnout to the farmer’s market, many of the businesses were full of people working on completing their Christmas shopping, enjoying coffee, or getting a bite to eat at local restaurants. Coordinator Laura Faulkner says they were pleased to see dedicated shoppers, in spite of the rain.

She says you can support those businesses all year, not just on Shop Small Saturday, and it’s important to do so—these are the businesses that really support your communities.

Attendees were able to enjoy face painting, cookie decorating, multiple sales and deals and more as part of the event. People voted on their favorite small business—the winner this year was The Downtown Famer’s Market itself—and all proceeds generated from that went to benefit the United Way of the Pennyrile.
