Tis the season to get up and active, as The City of Cadiz will host a Jingle Bell Jog 5K on December 14 to benefit local charities in the community.
According to a news release, the 5k run/walk will help support the Cadiz-Trigg County Helping Hands and Angel Tree, which in turn supports those in need in the community. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center on December 14, with the race to begin promptly at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one canned good item and to wear an ugly Christmas sweater.
There will be an awards ceremony and prizes will be handed out. The race course starts at the senior citizen center, heads towards East Noel, then left onto the walking trail, onto Chasity Drive and then racers will make a u-turn and had back towards the four-way intersection. From there, back onto the walking trail before heading towards the finish line by the senior center.
Anyone with any inquiries is asked to contact Race Director Casey Lee.
