The 171 workers who lost their jobs with the shutdown of Ebonite were able to attend rapid response sessions Thursday at Hopkinsville Community College and additional events have been scheduled.
Julie Allen is the workforce programs coordinator for the West Kentucky Workforce Board and coordinated the rapid response meetings, saying they had numerous agencies that are willing to assist with a successful transition represented at the sessions.
There will be a resume workshop from 10 until 3 on Tuesday, December 3 at the Kentucky Career Center on Riverfront Drive and a Job Expo Thursday, December 5 from 11 until 5 at the Bruce Convention Center.
While the job expo was organized following the Ebonite closure, anyone in the community seeking employment will be welcome to attend.
The first rapid response meeting was at 9:30 Thursday morning, with afternoon sessions set for 1 and 3 p.m.
