There will be three rapid response sessions hosted by the West Kentucky Workforce Board and Kentucky Career Center Thursday for the 171 Ebonite employees who lost their jobs with the plant’s shutdown Friday.
They will be at 9:30 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. at the Hopkinsville Community College Emerging Technology Building Anderson Room.
Sheila Clark is the Director of the Workforce Board and says multiple agencies will be on hand to offer their services to the dislocated workers.
There will be presentations during each session and a time of questions and answers.
Clark notes it’s a devastating time for those workers who became unemployed before the holiday season and the agencies will do anything they can to help with a successful transition.
A job fair will be scheduled for early December and the former Ebonite employees will be encouraged to attend with their resumes.
Officials note that those laid off employees won’t be eligible to apply for unemployment benefits until their severance pay expires on January 14.
Anyone with additional questions can call the Workforce Board at 270-886-9484.
