Former fugitive of the week charged with falsely reporting

A Hopkinsville woman is facing multiple charges, including falsely reporting an incident, after she was served with a warrant Thursday by Hopkinsville police.

According to the police report, 33-year old Ciera Gibbs of Hopkinsville made a false report to police on November 10 saying she had been kidnapped, forcibly raped, kicked in the face and had a lamp smashed over her head.

Earlier in the month, on November 4, officers had responded to a disturbance on Wallace Avenue and while investigating, Gibbs allegedly attempted to mislead officers multiple times.  Once revealed that she was a Crime Stoppers fugitive of the week, she reportedly began making accusations about alleged crimes that had happened to her at the residence.  She was arrested and put in an HPD cruiser, but was reportedly able to slip the cuffs, exit the cruiser and flee the scene.

Video shows no injuries on Gibbs consistent with her report and when confronted about discrepancies, she would allegedly change her story.

Gibbs was taken into custody, and the Christian County Jail shows her in custody on charges of falsely reporting an incident, trafficking in methamphetamine, second-degree escape, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and theft.
