Although longtime director Bonnie Lynch has stepped down from the Hopkinsville Imagination Library, Sarah Hardison has stepped into that role and is eager to lead the program that benefits children in the community.
Hardison appeared on the WHOP Early Bird Show Tuesday and says that many people may not know that Christian County is wholly responsible for funding the program.
She says the amount of children enrolled—of which they currently serve around 3,500—grows every day.
Hardison says the local program is unique because they cover children in all of Christian County instead of just Hopkinsville.
The Imagination Library provides books to children between the ages of 0 to five years old, every month, in an effort to encourage early education through reading. Hardison encourages parents and guardians to also read to their children, as it has been shown to help set them on the path to success in school.
