Kentucky State Police is investigating the wreck that occurred on US 68 near South Road in Trigg County Thursday night and killed two people.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle driven by 20-year old Emily Lyons of Straffordsville was traveling north on South Road when she reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way. She traveled into the path of a vehicle operated by 56-year old Jon McCraw of Cadiz on US 68, who was unable to avoid a collision and the two struck.
Lyons, McCraw and a passenger in Lyons’ vehicle—32-year old Matthew Cook of Wittensville—were transported to Trigg County Hospital, where Lyons and Cook succumbed to their injuries. Both are scheduled for autopsies in Louisville.
KSP was assisted by Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Rescue Squad, Trigg County EMS, and Trigg County Coroner.
