Democrat Andy Beshear says nothing Governor Matt Bevin can do will change the results of Tuesday’s general election and that he’s moving forward with the transition process.
He named J. Michael Brown as his transition chair Wednesday morning and said it’s time to move forward and unite Kentuckians after a divisive election.
Governor Bevin did not concede after apparently losing by about 5,200 votes, but Beshear says a potential recanvass or recount will not change the outcome.
Beshear says he has big plans for action during his first week in office.
He says he will have Democrats, Republicans and independents in his cabinet, but did not name any names. Besehar said he expects Governor Bevin will eventually work with him on a smooth transition.
