Rotary Club hears from Jobs for Life initiative

The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville got a visit from Jobs for Life—an organization aimed at teaching citizens how to not only get a job but keep one in order to improve their lives—at Tuesday’s meeting.

The speaker was Jobs for Life President and CEO Ryan Ray, who says the organization partners with agencies, individuals and leaders within communities and trains them on how to teach those struggling with employment on how to retain a job.

He says the program not only results in employment—it also helps establish a sense of identity to those who participate, boosts their confidence and ultimately helps change lives.

The Jobs for Life program, which can either by an 8-week or 16-week program, is often used not just for adults, but also for juveniles entering the workforce, who may not have had anyone teach them what they need to know.  The program could be utilized locally by the Challenge House initiative or other agencies to assist those in need.

The Jobs for Life initiative is stationed in North Carolina—for information on its mission or how to implement it locally, call (919) 839-6374.
