NCAA Board Of Governors Approves Letting Athletes Profit Of Their Name

The NCAA is starting the process to allow college athletes to make money off their names, images and likeness. The group’s governing board voted unanimously today to direct its three divisions to consider bylaw changes.

California approved a law allowing athletes at those colleges to profit last month and other states are considering doing the same. The board gave the divisions criteria to consider and asked them to come back with new rules by the end of January 2021.
