Pennyrile RC&D hands out awards at annual banquet

The Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Council recently celebrated 43 years of service to the community and presented multiple awards at the their annual banquet.

The featured speaker was the Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy Executive Director Warren Beeler, who spoke about how tobacco settlement money is being used to help agriculture and community development in the state and the Pennyrile area.

Bonnie Jeffers was the recipient of the D. T. Porter RC&D Person of the Year Award, the Hopkinsville Fire Department received the Community Service Award while the Hopkinsville Police Department won the Special Project Award.  The Sherrill Jeffers Making Things Happen Award went to Rogers Group, Inc. and certificates of appreciation went to Gertrude Bullock, Larry Lynch, Dorothy Tolliver and Greenville Mayor Jan Yonts.
