The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred on East Ninth Street Wednesday evening that sent one person to the hospital.
According to the collision report, all three vehicles were travelling east on East Ninth Street when a vehicle operated by 48-year old Denny Chilton of Hopkinsville collided with the back of a vehicle driven by 37-year old Jennifer Miller of Clarksville. Chilton reportedly said he thought traffic had begun moving when the traffic light turned green, and by the time he realized it was not moving he was unable to stop.
His vehicle struck the back of Miller’s, pushing it forward into a third vehicle driven by 27-year old Kristie Yates of Clarksville. All vehicles received minor to moderate damage. Miller went by private vehicle to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for complaints of dizziness, nausea and neck pain.
Everyone involved was reportedly wearing a seatbelt.
