CCSO to host safe Halloween event

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting Operation: Safe Halloween after Hopkinsville’s downtown trick-or-treating concludes.

Sheriff Tyler DeArmond says deputies will be handing out candy in a safe and controlled environment behind the sheriff’s department from 5 until 6 p.m. on Halloween night.

He says it will be a lot like trunk or treat events many families attend each year.

Sheriff DeArmond says it’s all about providing another safe way for kids to go trick-or-treating.

Anyone wanting to donate candy to the event can drop it off at the Christian County Sheriff’s Department on West Seventh Street during regular business hours.

Hopkinsville’s downtown trick-or-treating on Main Street will go from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.
