Two arrested on drug trafficking charges

Two men were arrested on drug trafficking charges Sunday night following an investigation at the Rodeway Inn on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Hopkinsville police were notified of possible drug activity at a room in the motel and 32-year old Dale Daugherty of Hopkinsville came to the door after officers knocked several times.

An arrest citation says an open needle was on the floor in plain view and Daugherty said another man—30-year old Chad Warwick of Hopkinsville—was in the bathroom. Police say several clear plastic bags were found in the toilet.

A search of Warwick’s person allegedly revealed a quantity of methamphetamine in his boxers.

Consent was gained to search the room and police say they found a scale, several needles and drug paraphernalia.

One of the needles tested positive for meth and another for heroin.

Neither suspect claimed ownership of the items and both were arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of heroin, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
