Atmos Energy to soon begin replacing pipe in Hopkinsville

Atmos Energy will soon begin work on replacing 8000 feet of pipe in Hopkinsville, as part of a Pipeline Replacement Program for its service territory.

The program allows Atmos to replace bare steel and other aging infrastructure, according to a news release, and the project is set to begin in the next few weeks. There will be approximately 116 service lines affected, which is the line that runs from the street to the house.  There will be no charge to customers for the service, and Atmos will work with homeowners as necessary.

Contractors will begin work in the areas of Walnut Street, Central Avenue, East 18th Street, Oak Street and Falls Lane. The anticipated date of completion is September 2020, weather permitting.

Operations Supervisor Robert Flick says, “Atmos Energy is committed to the safety and reliability of our system.  It is our number one priority.
